1. Purpose of Collecting and Using Personal Information, Items Collected, and Collection Methods

a. Service Provision & Identity Verification

We collect personal information to provide content, offer personalized services, and verify user identity.

b. Member Management

We use personal information to provide membership services, verify identity, enforce restrictions on users who violate the Sherlock Holmes Terms of Use, prevent unauthorized or disruptive use of the service, confirm membership intent, limit duplicate accounts, retain records for dispute resolution, handle inquiries and complaints, deliver notifications, and confirm membership withdrawal requests.

c. Service Development, Marketing & Advertising

We use collected information for new service development, personalized service delivery, demographic-based service and advertising, service effectiveness checks, event participation opportunities, promotional information, usage analytics, and statistical analysis.

d. Items Collected & Methods of Collection

1. During initial signup, we collect the minimum required personal information needed to provide membership and customer support:

Required: Username (ID), Password, Name, Mobile Number (for verification)

2. During service use, the following information may be automatically generated and collected:
IP address, cookies, visit timestamps, service usage records, records of misuse, device information

3. Additional information may be collected only from users participating in optional services or events that require further details. Separate consent will always be obtained.

2. Third-Party Information Sharing

Unreal Company Co., Ltd. (Business Registration No. 848-81-00487), operating under the trade name Sherlock Holmes (E-commerce Registration No. 2017-Seoul Gangnam-01467), collects only the minimum information necessary to provide services in accordance with applicable laws.

3. Retention and Deletion of Personal Information

Personal information is destroyed without delay once the purpose of its collection has been fulfilled. Electronic records are deleted using technical methods that prevent recovery.
However, certain information may be retained as required:

a. Retention per Company Policy

- Item: Mobile number used for verification
- Purpose: Prevention of fraudulent sign-ups and misuse
- Retention Period: 6 months
※ “Fraudulent use records” include abnormal service use such as unauthorized sign-ups or violations of service rules.

b. Retention Required by Law

Certain records are retained as mandated under the Commercial Act, Consumer Protection in E-commerce Act, and related laws:

- Records of contracts or cancellations: 5 years
- Records of complaints or dispute resolution: 3 years
- Website visit logs: 3 months (per Communications Privacy Protection Act)

4. Rights of Users and Legal Guardians

Users may view, modify, or delete their personal information at any time through “Edit Personal Information” or request withdrawal from membership. Upon verification, the company will promptly take action.

If a correction is requested, the relevant data will not be used or shared until the correction is completed. If incorrect information has been shared with third parties, we will notify them promptly to ensure correction.
Deleted information is handled according to the retention policy and cannot be viewed or used for any other purpose.

Legal guardians of users under age 14 may view, modify, or withdraw consent for the child’s personal information.

We outsource certain tasks to provide and maintain our services:
